​Coldwater Beagles is a family venture. Beagles are not our job or our hobby, they are our passion!

Coldwater Beagles are directly associated with the Fischer Hill family, consisting of myself Erin Fischer-Hill, my son Cael Fischer and my husband Tim Hill. 

​

I was born into Beagles so it's not a lie when I say they are my blood and my family. Our line started with my dad Dr. Robert "Doc" Fischer and his hunting Beagles under the Fischer's Coldwater line. This line was a cooperative breeding program of four friends, my dad, Don Sexton, Pat Tappeden and Roy Swafford. The four of them used "Coldwater" and put their last name in front to individualize their Kennel name. They had great success in ARHA and UKC including the first ever UKC Hunting Beagle Grand Champions- littermates- HB GRCH Tappenden's Coldwater Hank and HB GRCH Fischer's Coldwater Candy...finishing their titles one day apart.

As my dads veterinary practice grew and his family grew he had less time for his Beagles and decided to end his breeding program. But the passion was ignited in me. So as I became a teenager and my love for conformation dog shows grew, I knew that there was only one breed for me! So as a 16 year old kid, I bought my first AKC show Beagle who eventually became American/Canadian Champion J and L's Heart's Desire. Abby gave me by first litter born December 30, 1999 so as of writing we have been breeding for almost 27 years. 

 

Tim was not a dog person before meeting Erin. But together they restarted Erin's love for Beagle, breeding and showing in 2014 with the purchase of Ch. K-Run Tashtin Story Of My Life. The genetics of our breeding  program have changed a little since then, but the love and dedication have not. While Erin is the primary contact making the breeding decisions and showing in the ring, Tim is a vital part. He stays home and cares for the Beagles while Erin is off pursuing adventures in the ring. 

 

Much like his mom, Cael was born into dogs. As a child he'd often refer to the Beagles as his doggy brothers and sisters. Like Tim, we just couldn't do this without Cael.  He feeds, he waters, he cleans, he potties. He was and is our puppy socializer and is by far all the dogs favorite. As he ages, we hope his love and dedication to our breeding program grows. He doesn't love the showring, but will also help there when needed. Cael is now a high school student where he is in all AP classes and has aspirations to follow in his grandpa's footsteps and become a veterinarian.
